well i guess i'm due for an update....
okay well i guess i should start with friday. i went to morgan's party and had fun, then got home and headed off to the airport to get dad. we got there and me and my mm had one of those mother daughter conversations and we talked (bout stuff dont wanna kno). but it was nice.
saturday was fun. we went to the mall and checked out hot topic for hair dye - then my mom bought me a green day calender and a green day pen. we headed to fridays and then left for blockbuster. we rented donnie darko again and resident evil 3 for gamecube.
hmm then came sunday. we skipped church *har har har* and went canoeing all day. now that was a hell of a lot of fun.we decided to go over this log in the water but we didnt quite make it so my end got stuck - so we were sitting at an angle on the log and the water lmao. and then my mom fell out of the canoe which was even funnier.
yes and then there was monday - i had mom write me a note to get out of 5th hour. after a l o n g day of effing school, i left happy to be out of that hell hole. i got home and took a shower. after my hair dried my mom put the blue stuff in my hair. i was nervous cuz it looked crappy at first, but after it dried and i brushed thru it, it looked awesome. and then my dad decided to give himself a mowhawk. wow...lmao. what a dork. naw i luv my dad. it just reminded me of a mullet (ew). so we're all ready to leave and then hank calls saying he is gonna be late. oh ggggrrrreeeaatt. just great leave it to hank to fuck everything up.
after a half an hour he shows up and we leave. omg...we get there and there are a ton of people waiting outside for the doors to open. it was only 6:45 and they opened at 7 so we went to the promo bus to take some pictures. this lady came up to us and asked us not to write on the bus yadda yadda and we talked to her for a while. we started to head back in line when she asked us if we wanted our picture taken for this contest to win free stuff. so of course i said heck yesss! so she took my picture and michelle's picture and me and michelle together. we shoot we walk in and get in line for wristbands and when we get to the actual arena they have these screens on each side of the stage, and next thing i kno, my picture's up there! woo hoo! go me! well yea that was way cool.
so we sit down on the floor until they tell us to stand up and everyone immediatly pushes forwrd. so we're all a little squished but not too bad. then jimmy eat world comes on and they're alright. after they finish, the tech crew starts to set up for GD. we tried to get up to the front but there was just no way in hell so we had to stay where we were, which wasn't that bad i guess. so finally the lights dim, and here comes the pink bunny jammin to YMCA slammin beers like no tomorrow. he's dancing and workin the crowd for a few minutes, and then next thing we know....
billie and tre and mike are out there, right in front of us playing american idiot. totally rockin the house. it was like nothing i have ever seen on tv, i dont give a damn if they do the same thing. it was just so breathtaking (literally, i was totally out of breath from jumping and screming). next they played jesus of suburbia which was spectacular. then that played holiday, are we the waiting, and saint jimmy. after that i just lost track...
the best partwas definitly twhere billie was doin his Hey-O!'s and he just got too excited and he starts touching himself and woops! there goes his hand down his pants and i mean, i know it was just an act, but damn! sure had me going! he was moanin and groanin and when he finally "hit that spot", he pulls his hand out and looks around for a second, then slides his two finger in his mouth and out again. the crowd just ate it up. he had the cutest look on his face like, "oh yea i totally just did what u think i did...and i liked it." yes it was great.
well soon enough came time for knowledge! ALL I KNOW IS THAT I DONT KNOW NOTHIN'! so they call up the drummer first, and depsite my damndest efforts for trying to lift up michelle, billie picks this guy up front. then they picked the bassist, and then the guiatrist. before billie let the guitar kid come up he says, "have u had sex....?Well you're having sex tonight - get your ass up here!" so the kids start playing and they are so awesome. they end the song with a jump off the drum stage and billie makes the bassist stage dive and then he calls the guitar kid up again. "hey whats ur name kid?" syas billie. "jeremy" says this kid. "jeremy gimme back my fuckin guitar!" so he hands it to him. Billie says, "where r u from?" and the kid says, "kokomo indiana." *random cheers from the crowd. "well jeremy - you get to keep the guitar." the kid just looks at him for a sec, and then hugs him. Billie smiles then says, "now get your kokomo ass off my fuckin stage!!!"
it was great.
wheh they played king for a day, this girl threw her bra up there and billie put it on while he was singing. so charming!
then the encore caame and they play BLVD. that was awesome. uhhhi cant reeally remember what order so im gonna skip to we are the champions.
We Are The Champions - i will never forget that...never. as the song came to a near end, confetti blasted *BANG!!!!!!* out into the air everywhere. amazing. utterly amazing. the whole attitude was just...unbelievable. as the confetti fell onto our heads and clothes, billie ended the song softly and strongly....
then the last song. billie alone on stage. just him and his guitar. he started good raiddnace and it all fell silent. just watching him made me want to cry, not in sadness but in total joy. it was the final momnets of this time, and i think everyone knew it. all the banging and jumping and energy came to an end with the sweet hanging notes of Good Riddance. the lights went out and when they came back on, billie was gone and the show was over.
i dont care who hates green day or who hates all they stand for. that was my first concert and i can tell that i will never forget it.
it's almost like you come to expect nothing less than total perfection from these guys, becuz that's all they ever dish out. |
